The 25th annual Fire Safety Conference, organised by the Building Control NI Fire Safety Panel, will take place on February 23 & 24 2023 in the Armagh City Hotel.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘The changing face of fire safety’ and once again it will include speakers drawn from various disciplines in the field of fire safety. This will include fire safety professionals, building control, fire brigade, product manufacturers and suppliers, trade bodies, research establishments and fire investigators. The conference will focus on current issues across a range of building types and occupancy profiles.
The presentations will include a number of case studies, ensuring the event will be interactive, and will involve audience participation and opportunities for questions. Overall, it equates to 10 hours CPD.
This year’s topics will examine:
• Fire Engineering case study
• National Fire Safety Update (UK & Ireland)
• Building Safety Review in NI
• Evolution of fire safety standards
• Up-skilling and competencies requirements UK
• Practical implementation of the Golden Thread
• Protecting all of our society.
Sean McConville, of the BCNI Fire Safety Panel, said, “We work hard to ensure the conference focuses on the latest industry topics. Each year, we strive to raise awareness of fire safety issues and standards, with the need for all to consider fire safety in everyday scenarios they may face. “Just as importantly, the aim of the conference is to create awareness and debate that will help shape our industry and develop best practice.”
