Newry-based Murdock Builders Merchants Group has announced the appointment of Kieran Burke as CEO of the Brooks Group, following its acquisition in August 2021.
Kieran brings with him over 40 years of builders merchanting experience in Ireland, UK and Europe. His responsibility will include leadership of the Brooks business as it enters a new stage of development under the Murdock Builders Merchants Group. Group CEO, James Higgins expressed his delight at Kieran’s appointment and his strong knowledge of the builders merchanting sector. Kieran’s tenure as CEO began on 2 May.
Eddie Kelly, who served as interim management of the Brooks business post-acquisition, will continue working with the Murdock Builders Merchants Group in a non-executive role as Chairman of Brooks. The Murdock Builders Merchants Group has a turnover in excess of €225m and operates from 25 locations in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The Brooks Group employs 195 people across nine branches in Ireland.
