JP Corry scoops two awards at Builders’ Merchants Awards 2023

JP Corry has secured two prestigious accolades at the Builders’ Merchants Awards 2023, held in the Park Plaza Hotel in London on November 24.

Reaffirming JP Corry’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and community impact within the industry, the firm picked up Community Initiative of the Year and Civils Merchant of the Year.

A testament to its dedication to meaningful community engagement and social responsibility initiatives, the Community Initiative award underscores JP Corry’s collaborative efforts and unwavering support of the community in realising positive change. The award recognises the remarkable strides the company has made in various people-oriented initiatives since October 2022.

JP Corry’s commitment to community engagement, employee support, and educational empowerment has had a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals. From supporting young girls’ development through the WomensTEC Homework Club to fostering mental health and well-being among employees, JP Corry exemplifies the true essence of a socially responsible and community-driven builders’ merchant. The firm has donated £17,231.68 to community groups, supporting 49 organisations across Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man including the Simon Community and Cancer Focus. Meanwhile, the esteemed Civils Merchant award emphasises JP Corry’s commitment to setting industry standards through outstanding services, product quality, and innovative solutions in the civils sector.

\This recognition highlights the company’s continuous pursuit of excellence and its position among the industry’s top performers. The Civils Supplier award recognises JP Corry’s remarkable growth in both drainage and geosynthetics sales between August 2022 and August 2023. Over the past decade, it has achieved a 104% increase in civils product sales, driven by its commitment to providing top-quality products and services to customers. Specific innovations have included the launch of the Tensar InterAx geogrid to the Northern Irish market in 2023, accompanied by local hands-on customer design seminars.

Addressing critical sustainability concerns by reducing the need for stone usage, it significantly saves time and material costs, while reducing carbon footprint. JP Corry also offers its customers access to the EcoTransIT platform for calculating “carbon miles” associated with purchased materials.

Ciaran McConnell, Managing Director at JP Corry, said, “We are immensely honoured to receive these prestigious awards. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our team and the unwavering support of our community. We are deeply committed to delivering exceptional service and making a positive impact.”

JP Corry extends congratulations to all the nominees and winners across various categories at the Builders’ Merchants Awards 2023. The company looks forward to continuing its pursuit of excellence and collaborative efforts in the industry.
