A number of local businesses within the construction sector have made it through to the finals of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Business Awards, taking place in person on 24 February in the Seagoe Hotel, Portadown. Pictured launching the awards are: Lord Mayor Glenn Barr, Chair of Economic Development Councillor Declan McAlinden, and Chief Executive Roger Wilson of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, with Amy Bennington from Power NI, associate sponsor.

A number of local companies within the construction sector have been shortlisted from over 120 entries making it through to the finals of the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council (ABC) Business Awards.

The seven companies; Kane Group, Banbridge, Drumhorc Pallets, Craigavon, Weld & Go Ltd, Craigavon, Alternative Heat Ltd, Banbridge, Irwin M&E Ltd in Portadown, David Jameson Roofing Services Ltd, Portadown and ConstructTuition Ltd based in Magheralin will now be interviewed to determine the winner in each of the respected categories ahead of the awards ceremony taking place on Thursday, 24 February.

Kane Group, Drumhorc Pallets and Weld & Go Ltd are all contenders for the ‘Excellence in Manufacturing Award.’

Alternative Heat Ltd is one of three businesses shortlisted for the ‘Best Business Growth Award’ and David Jameson Roofing Services Ltd are among seven businesses in the ‘Best Family Business Award.’

Meanwhile, Irwin M&E Ltd are hoping for a hat-trick victory in ‘Best Apprentice Employer Award,’ ‘Best Place to Work’ and ‘Excellence in Customer Service Award.’

Judges were staggered by the number of new businesses entering this year’s awards, showing that the entrepreneurial spirit of ABC hasn’t been dampened by the challenges of the last couple of years.

The awards are designed to recognise local business success, growth, and innovation across a range of sectors and the borough-wide event, held in partnership with Power NI, will take place in person at the Seagoe Hotel, Portadown, hosted by presenter Sarah Travers.

NI Builder would like to wish everyone involved the very best of luck!
