Concrete Society Awards applaud industry

The finest contributors to the concrete industry gather together...

Each year, the Northern Irish division of the Concrete Society gathers together to reward the outstanding contributions made to the concrete industry by companies and individuals. The Society remarked on how high the standard of entries was this year, and the judges had a very tough time selecting the winners. As well as celebrating the nominees, the awards also unify members of the industry, encouraging mutual support and overall advancement of the trade.

This year the event was held at the Europa Hotel in Belfast, hosted by Paul Clarke, MBE, of UTV Live. The sponsor of many of the awards was Lafarge Holcim Ltd, a Swiss multinational company that manufactures building materials and has a powerful presence in around 80 countries. The chosen charity partner for the evening was AWARE, a Northern Irish charity which delivers crucial mental health support services to communities, schools, colleges, universities and workplaces.

The charity received a fantastic £2599.40 from donations made on the evening. The award is an excellent display of all the talent and passion for the concrete industry that exists within Northern Ireland.
