A one-stop-shop for landscapers

With the temperatures finally on the rise, it is time to bring your garden to life and enjoy the sunshine. Local Builder’s Merchant MacBlair offers a full range of tools and landscaping products across its network of 17 branches to spruce up any garden project.  The MacBlair Bangor branch has recently launched a new landscaping display area. This “one-stop-shop” can cater for every project, no matter how big or small.  From fencing and decking, porcelain and concrete pavers, gravel and bark to drainage and tools for groundwork, the range also includes compost and seed, artificial grass and products for wood care and decking. “One of the most popular products at the moment is composite decking,” commented Billy McAuley, Branch Manager at MacBlair Bangor. “This timber alternative is made from a combination of recycled hardwood and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) to give the best in both aesthetics and performance. Available in a variety of colours and woodgrain effects, is more resistant to the weather and requires little maintenance.” According to Billy, porcelain paving has also been a big hit among customers. These pavers are made from a non-porous, stain resistant material and offer a durable finish in a variety of styles.

Great customer service in any weather

With so many choices, deciding on the right tools or the best design for the garden can be a bit daunting, but that is where the super-experienced team at MacBlair Bangor comes in. “Everyone on our sales team has decades of experience, not only in landscaping products, but in all ranges of building materials and equipment. This affords us the confidence to offer the best advice to our customers,” Billy explained. Billy himself has been Branch Manager for almost 40 years and oversees the entire Bangor operation, managing a team of 30 staff.  The branch comprises of three main departments.  MacBlair Plumbing offers everything from taps to underfloor heating systems, and is led by Richard Carvill, who has been in the company for 35 years.  The building materials department, with a 2,2-acre yard with heavyside products and landscaping materials, is managed by Mark Wilson, who has been with MacBlair for 16 years.  Peter Irwin has been at MacBlair for 40 years and manages general materials for the “white van man”. Alan Davis manages the recently refurbished Watershed bathroom showroom, and may be considered the “new guy”, with 13 years at the branch.

Even with all this experience, the team still attends regular product training sessions to keep up with the latest industry trends and innovations, allowing them to provide the best advice. “The high volume of daily collect sales and deliveries is not only down to the extensive product range on offer but also to our reputation for providing excellent customer service,” Billy added. “We offer great quality products, expert advice and deliveries within 48 hours. It is a full service.”
