Research and development (R&D) is a critical component in AG’s success over recent years and the family-owned company is justifiably proud of the many market-firsts it has introduced over the past 60 years. In addition to its in-house R&D team, AG also works in partnership with global leaders in segmental retaining wall design and engineering.
AG’s Long Stone has been created with the contemporary eye in mind. Perfect for public realm, commercial or domestic patios, paths and decorative featured areas, it was inspired by European design trends. Coming in four sizes and two bold colour blends (Fiammata and Frassino) this eye-catching porcelain-effect, smooth finished plank paving solution is not only beautiful but boasts low maintenance thanks to its close joint finish, you need less grouting and have less weed growth.
The Long Stone range has been crafted using the latest advances in manufacturing and mould design. It features straight lines with a straight edge detail and multiple lengths to create a distinctive ‘wooden floor’ effect when laid. Its close-jointed finish reduces trolley and wheel noise in a commercial setting and also reduces dirt and moss build-up. As well as being frost-resistant, it is ideal for pedestrian areas and has been designed to withstand light traffic.
The two stunning colours are created using top mix multi-blending, with carefully selected fine granite aggregates and cement blends to create a high contrast laying pattern which complements contemporary and minimalist design styles best.
Plank paving – also known as linear paving – is a style of paving that uses long and thin paving slabs. Laid lengthways, plank paving gives the illusion of depth and can make a narrow area appear wider than it is.

AG was commissioned by Brennan Bros for the provision of paving products for the rejuvenation of Patrick Street, Kilkenny.
Together with the project specifiers – Kilgallon & Associates and Kilkenny City Engineers – AG proposed the use of Long Stone plank paving, mixing equal parts of the two colour blends, Frassino and Fiammata, to produce a seamless blend of paving tones. The project, which utilised 1,000m² of Long Stone paving created a new look for Patrick Street and offered longevity for years to come.
Long Stone is produced using carefully selected granite aggregates and cement blends to create a product that not only looks beautiful but also will remain so after many years.
