FMB – 2021 Northern Ireland Master Builder Awards

Celebrating the best builders in Northern Ireland

After a most unusual year, we have been looking forward to celebrating the best building projects delivered by Master Builders across NI at the 2021 Master Builder Awards, sponsored by Isuzu UK.

We are so grateful for the support too of Keystone, in providing the fun boxes which were a great feature of our first ever virtual awards.

The biennial Master Builder Awards celebrate high-quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and building excellence delivered by Master Builders across the country. The awards help to recognise the significant contribution that small and medium-sized construction companies make to the UK construction industry.

From new residential homes to major commercial developments, Master Builders help to build a better future and the awards provide an opportunity for members to showcase their hard work.

This year in NI it was a privilege to see a record number of entries and a record number of new companies entering for the first time.

In fact, FMB members in NI delivered the largest number of entries for any region in the UK and this is a credit to the amazing work being delivered by tradespeople here. The whole Industry can be very proud of the collaborative approach to these projects delivered to the highest standards.

Now in its 29th year, these awards continue to grow with the quality of projects increasing year on year. 30 independent judges helped us judge the 11 categories this year and we are deeply indebted to their diligence and commitment.

Whilst there can be only one winner in each category the job of selecting winners was made more difficult due to the high quality of entries. This is certainly a task the judges responded to and their consistency and lack of bias really does add to the value of the awards.

FMB are very proud of the work all our members do and whilst the awards showcase a small percentage of these projects, we know daily, their clients are delighted with their work and service.

This has indeed been a difficult year for many reasons. We would like to give a large word of thanks also to our NI Board chaired and lead currently by our Regional President Willie Moffitt. Their desire to continue to work for and lead change for the better for Industry has helped us continue to raise standards and lobby for recognition for the Construction Industry.

Throughout this year Willie and the Board have looked to provide support for fellow builders and approach issues with a selfless attitude. We have seen in recent times new unforeseen challenges have arisen with material shortages and costs threatening recovery. But we all can be very proud to be part of a Construction Industry here in NI that looks forward and finds solutions in a resilient manner.

As you review the projects from this year’s awards, we want to give a massive congratulations to all firms who were nominated and those who have won. Looking ahead to the UK Final in September, we can truly say NI will be well represented and we look forward to hopefully seeing them as National winners.

Why not make sure next time you are able to enter these prestige awards and give your company the profile it deserves? If you are not currently an FMB member please look closely at the huge range of services and benefits that come from being part of the largest contractor trade community.
